Changes are coming to the Chevrolet Tahoe and its big brother, the Suburban. The images shown here represent our first look at what we can expect from this refreshed full-size SUV.
As usual for facelifts, changes to the exterior are relegated to the front and rear. This is where we find some heavy camo, and if we zoom in for a tight crop, it sure looks like the big Chevy will get a new dual-light setup with separate headlights and daytime running lights. Although similar in style to the Chevy SilveradoTHE Tahoe And Suburban have their own characteristics and it looks like Chevy will add to that distinction with slim daytime running lights up top and headlights flanking the grille lower down. While distinct, it should still fit loosely with the Silverado refresh that debuted for 2022.
We’re hard-pressed to see any changes with the grille, though the bold chrome center strips might go away. It looks a little bigger, but the overall design shouldn’t change much from the current model. There’s also the possibility of minor differences in grille designs between Tahoe trim levels, and on that front we’re pretty sure this is a stylish High Country Edition. The wheels look the part and the deployable side steps are clearly visible under the doors. These are notable features of the chic trim level.
At the rear, it is more difficult to determine the changes. Heavy camo may hint at major design changes to the windows and tailgate, but at the same time the camo could just be a trick. At the very least, we see new taillights through the covers, although their shape is unknown. Curiously, large cutouts in the heavy covers for the exhaust tips actually reveal smaller openings in the lower fairing. It could be a placeholder piece, or it could point to a redesigned rear bumper with new rectangular exhaust tips.
At this point, we haven’t heard anything about interior or powertrain changes. The carryover gear is probably under the hood, but we can see the dash covers through the driver’s side window. It could mean something more than just an updated trim in the greenhouse.
When will we know for sure? If this updated Tahoe debuts in the fourth quarter of the year, it could be a 2024 model. If we don’t see it revealed until late 2023, it could be a Tahoe 2025. Either way, we expect to see something before the end of this year.
