Marianne Williamson, a self-help author who is running for the Democratic nomination for the second time in 2024, has been accused by former campaign staff of engaging in “abusive” treatment.
Williamson has made a career of preaching love and forgiveness and same city “dignity, decency, intelligence and love” as a way to catapult her candidacy in a recent interview.
As Political reportsthose attributes were sorely lacking during her 2020 presidential bid. The outlet interviewed a dozen campaign workers who described her as “a boss who can be verbally and emotionally abusive.”
“Interviewees say the bestselling author and spiritual counselor subjected her employees to unpredictable and explosive bouts of anger,” they wrote.
A former member of staff accused Williamson of ‘uncontrollable rage’ while the 12 said they saw her ‘screaming at people until they started crying’.
Several interviewees said Williamson would throw phones at staff members.
Wow. A dozen people who worked for Marianne Williamson’s campaign describe her behavior as “abusive” to the point of being “traumatic”:
“It would be foam, spitting, uncontrollable rage. It was traumatic. And the experience, in the end, was terrifying.https://t.co/R0XvLxLjHE

Marianne Williamson has to help herself
The report that Marianne Williamson is abusive is quite shocking as she doesn’t appear to be bat-crazy at all in outward appearance.
Well, you know, except for all of that forcing a white audience to engage in a “prayer of apology” to black attendees for slavery.
No, it wasn’t super creepy or anything.
THE Houston Chronicle in 2020 reported that Williamson was in town for her “Love America Tour” years prior when she asked the black members in attendance to stand.
White members of the public were encouraged to take the hands of those standing and start with, “I apologize…” before she listed a litany of reasons why white people are horrible.

Not a ‘Wacky New-Age Nutcase’
It would be interesting to know how many of the 12 former campaign staffers who had phones thrown at them or were subjected to Marianne Williamson’s “explosive bouts of anger” were black.
Politico would certainly have identified these details if the candidate in question had been a Republican. Of this, there is no doubt.
And if none of them were black, so that would be just as racist because it would indicate that Williamson doesn’t hire a diverse staff.
Williamson pushed back against the report, suggesting the Politico story is nothing more than “dirty tricks.”

Williamson suggested that the abuse accusations came from President Biden’s camp.
“This is what they do. These are the hits they make. The hit plays come. The mockery of the president’s press secretary comes…” she said.
“It’s the dirty tricks that mean you’re jerking someone off. Someone is not happy that you are here, ”added the Democratic candidate.
“Someone feels threatened by the conversation you are engaging in.”

Williamson insisted during his previous presidential campaign that she is not a breakneck train.
“People are so invested in creating this false narrative about me as a ‘crystal lady’, ‘crazy new-age lunatic’,” she explained. “If you really think about it, I must be doing something good that they’re so scared of.”
They were not afraid in 2020. They are not afraid in 2024. Because she do seems to be a bit wacky.
