The country’s first fully integrated electric refrigerated truck fleet provider, Revora, launched today in Sydney.
Refrigeration manufacturer Eurocold officially launched its local branch Revora today at Fully Charged Live. It will showcase its first refrigerated electric truck at the Brisbane Truck Show in May.
“Revora is a completely separate and new brand from Eurocold – aimed at future-proofing the sustainability of the transport refrigerated industry,” said Founder and Managing Director Avraam Solomon.
“Revora will be Australia’s first fully integrated electric refrigerated truck fleet provider.”
The company says it wants to provide not only trucks, but also charging and data solutions.
Zero-emission refrigerated trucks are primarily intended for companies that make last-mile deliveries.
“Electric vehicles are particularly well suited to urban and stop-start tasks,” said chief executive Nathan Gore-Brown.
“It’s down to their ability to recuperate energy through regenerative braking. Typically, the refrigerated transport industry has a large portion of the fleet doing last mile delivery and that’s where electric trucks excel. .
Revora has developed a program that will assess a company’s suitability for electric vehicles and then provide trucks for long-term lease.
Components for the trucks will be sourced from Australian and international operators, and the trucks will be assembled in Brisbane.
The company says that due to companies’ access to an electrified fleet, they are able to extend their hours of operation later into the night due to reduced noise congestion compared to diesel trucks.
Electric trucks will also allow companies to access delivery docks and closed buildings without unnecessarily polluting the air of dockworkers.
