House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said Mike Pence embarrassed himself defending Trump in the face of impeachment.
Video of Pence’s full interview on ABC’s This Week:
pence said:
Well, first of all, let me say that I’m – I’m surprised at the idea of indicting a former president of the United States at – at a time when there’s a crime wave in New York , that fact that the Manhattan DA thinks indicting President Trump is its top priority, I think it just tells you everything you need to know about the radical left in this country. Sounds like a politically charged pursuit here. And I – for one, I just feel like that’s just not what Americans want to see.
We have real challenges in this country today, Jon. People are facing record inflation, a crisis at our border. We have the war in Eastern Europe. The American people are worried about our future. And here we are again, back in another politically charged lawsuit against the former President of the United States. And I–I just hope for better.

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said Mike Pence embarrassed himself in his defense of Trump and he knew better. Rep. Jeffries added: “In this grand tally of ours, no one is above the law.” pic.twitter.com/iDMHRjGk6s

Rep. Jeffries replied, “Vice President Pence knows best and he embarrassed himself and that’s unfortunate. You know, George Washington in his farewell address to the nation said the constitution is damn binding on everyone. It means everyone. This includes former Presidents of the United States of America, because in this great country of ours, no one is above the law. This is the principle that defines the Republic and it has been for 247 years and so, I urge everyone to just let the prosecutor do his job.

Mike Pence has lust in his heart for the presidency, and he doesn’t care that Trump sent a mob of his supporters on 1/6 to the Capitol to kill him. Mike Pence won’t do anything he thinks will cost him the votes of Trump supporters in the 2024 Republican presidential primary.
Pence embarrasses himself for nothing.
The former vice president will never be the Republican candidate for president, but he exposed the lie behind the conservative evangelical political movement.
Chief Jeffries was right about Pence and more people need to call out GOP defenders Trump in plain and stark terms.
