White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has faced criticism and derision after she falsely claimed fentanyl levels at the border were at “historic lows”.
Fox News reporter Peter Doocy during a recent press briefing tackled a horrific story about two Americans who were killed in a violent kidnapping by what are believed to be members of a Mexican drug cartel.
The two victims were part of a group including two other Americans who came under fire as they drove through Brownsville, Texas, toward the Mexican town of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, last week.
“So the cartels are killing Americans on this side of the border with drugs, and now they’re killing Americans on the other side of the border with guns,” Doocy confronted. “Why is President Biden so comfortable with cartels operating so close to the United States?”
Jean-Pierre’s response was to downplay the crisis at the border and assert that fentanyl is under control.
“Because of the work that this president has done, because of what we’ve done specifically on fentanyl at the border, it’s at historically low levels – historical levels that we’ve been able to register a number of people working to secure the border because of what we were able to do, seize this fentanyl,” Jean-Pierre said.
“We did it in a historic way. It’s because of what this president did.

Karine Jean-Pierre blasted over claims of fentanyl at border at historic lows
Karine Jean-Pierre’s comments about fentanyl on the border did not escape scrutiny from critics who pointed out that she lacked honesty.
“Perhaps a language error? Fentanyl is by no means at “historic lows”. Seizures and ODs are at record highs,” tweeted Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin, who has been at the forefront of reporting on the border crisis.
It is possible, of course. But again, most of Jean-Pierre’s “false talk” is intentional. We used to call it “lies” in the past.
Melugin pointed out that the administration seems to suggest that the record number of foreclosures is a good thing. Because in their minds, not an ounce actually enters the country if the immense quantities are seized.

KJP seems to imply that record foreclosures are a good thing. It’s a double-edged sword. Border agents will tell you that they only catch a fraction of what comes… https://t.co/rRU2RYlMEv

Fox News host Jesse Watters suggested Jean-Pierre’s comments are a sure indicator that she “needs to have her brain checked.”

First, to verify it, you would have to locate it.
Comedian Tim Young summed it up nicely, noting that they say these things for one particular reason: “They think you’re stupid.”

And then there is reality
Downplaying the border crisis has been a hallmark of this administration. They know it’s overrun with drugs and illegals and they just don’t care. It’s intentional.
But the disgusting display of the president and his team has gone up a notch in recent days.
In addition to his administration falsely claiming that fentanyl is at “historic lows,” President Biden was heard laughing at a story about a woman whose two sons died of a fentanyl overdose.

The mother called President Biden a “horrible human being” and demanded an apology.
Joe Biden laughed at the death of this mother’s two sons.
“What a horrible human being. How can he just sit there and joke about that?!”

Jean-Pierre claimed that Biden’s comments were “misinterpreted” and that the story was little more than “conspiracy theories”, indicating the likelihood of an apology was slim to none.
According to Biden’s own DEA Administrator, Anne Milgram, however, the cartels are “killing Americans with fentanyl at catastrophic and record rates the likes of which we have never seen before.”

Overdoses, fueled by a rise in fentanyl, are currently the number one killer of Americans 18 to 45 years old.
