Much like the original Demon launch, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 got a campaign of cryptic teasers ahead of the reveal. And from the start we were everyone a little confused why some sprites fueled by nightmares were right in the center of them. So we asked Tim Kuniskis, the head of To dodge, what was the deal. Turns out they were really fueled by nightmares.
Apparently, at some point in the development process and nearing the time when it would be time to advertise the car, he had a bad pixie-centric dream. Well, he sort of made do with it. He talked about it and managed to figure out how to connect the Demon 170 to scary sprites with the help of the team.
The connections actually make some sense. The car has a kind of evil and mischievous character. It’s made wilder with alcohol (see the IV teaser). Leprechauns are often associated with alcohol. Leprechauns are also very fast. And with a reveal right next to St. Patrick’s Day, it all makes a bit of sense. Strange meaning, but meaning nonetheless.
Either way, we’re glad the 170 is here and can’t wait to ride one.
