Twitter CEO Elon Musk has been called out by Dr Anthony Fauci after the billionaire tweeted that Fauci should be “prosecuted” for his handling of the COVID-19 outbreak.
During a Saturday interview on CNN, Fauci responded to a tweet from Elon Musk from December, calling calls for his prosecution “insanity.”

Acosta pointed to the tweet that read, “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci,” and he asked for Fauci’s reaction.

“Jim, there’s nothing you can do about this madness. Why will you sue me? What are they discussing? I would really like to understand what they are talking about. They just seem to get to the bottom of it,” Fauci said.

Fauci went on to say that due to the harsh criticism he has received, he and his family have received death threats.
“I mean, [my family] don’t appreciate that I constantly receive death threats. Someone somewhere thinks they want to hurt me and/or my family every time someone stands up and spews gibberish which is misinformation, deception and blatant lies,” Fauci said. .
This part, he continued, “is extremely unfortunate. The rest of what they say is pure madness. But when people take it seriously and turn against you and your family, it has a detrimental impact.
Fauci’s critics say that during the early stages of the pandemic, he misled people about masks and vaccinations by making frequent U-turns.
The COVID-19 lab leak scenario, which Fauci and much of the media had dismissed as a conspiracy theory, has also been accused of being downplayed by Republicans on Capitol Hill.
A number of US agencies now support this theory as the most plausible to explain the origins of COVID-19.
